Rearview Typeface

Rearview is a custom lowercase typeface inspired by the distinctive forms found on vintage and modern license plates. Beginning with observational research, I analyzed the unique characteristics of license plate typography and reimagined them into a cohesive, functional alphabet while preserving their recognizable industrial aesthetic. This project strengthened my understanding of type design, consistency, proportion, and letterform construction, demonstrating how inspiration from everyday objects can be transformed into a unique and expressive typeface.
